Yes it is. It's one of the espresso machines with the best value per price. One must understand that all Gaggia's semi-automatic machines share the same state-of the art mechanism, which helps you make excellent espresso. So the fact that the Evolution's price is less than $250, does not mean that it is inferior to Gaggia's bigger and more expensive semi-auto models.
The thing about the Evolution is this: It has a small aluminum boiler which heats up very fast. 6-10 minutes and you are ready to go. However, using such a small boiler (along with other features of the machine), means that it was designed for coffee-for-two. Make whatever you want out of that, but also know this: It is not easy to take the best out of the Gaggia Evolution, but if you are willing to put the effort, you will end up making coffee that you definitely can brag about.
